It’s a trend of generating and playing music so loudly in any public functions or festivals. The best example to explain the cause and effect of the noise pollution is that one must attend any of the “SARVAGANIK” function in and around. The songs are played in such a loud noise that the kept idol of god will run off from there if it was alive.
It was like every year Lord Ganesha arrived and our headache started because, next to our resident there is a Mandal Rajaji Path Mitra Mandal which celebrates Ganesh Festival very loudely said by Mrs. Rane.
Mr Ramesh Thakur member of Sangharsh Mitra Mandal stated that “The festival season in Maharashtra begins in August and goes on for next three to four month including Ganesh Utsav, Dasshera, Diwali. Several god and goddesses are appeased with appropriate Pooja’s alongside noisy celebration but the people and the resident think that its Ganesh Utsav. Now Clearly the noise will be beyond tolerable limit and incomplete violation of noise pollution norms.” Mr Ramesh Thakur also said that “I don’t understand about peoples reaction such festival comes only once in a year and they should enjoy it rather than complaining to the police.”
Rushab Mhatre a student said “Noise effects professional performance of mind because I m a person who has the problem of high blood pressure and as the sound of the music goes up I get irrigated by my nature and beyond of keeping all the doors and windows closed the level of sound don’t reduce. One think I can’t understand why such public speaker system that donot follow the norms of noise pollution are punished.
Kunal Parab said “I enjoy loud noise because it gives me a feel of festival season and I don’t think that it creates a huge disaster in environment as everyone thinks.”
Pratik Mane a member from Ram Nagar Mitra Mandal said “Our Mandal doesn’t support noise pollution because we care for our resident people. The main element which make any function popular is the people participation but nothing will be successful in peaceful manner by playing any song in loud noise which disturbs the environment.”
Ram Manohar Joshi stated that “Religious celebration for political motives and vote banking, by harassing the resident of areas now very common thing in Mumbai city. He also added I am a person who love to enjoy music played in my resident earlier times during festival but today the music is something which can shale your heart.”
Mr. Pradeep Shinde said by supporting the harm of noise pollution that “There are many Mandals on each and every corner of the lane and all the Mandals include young peoples who organized the event related to any social festival like Ganesh Utsav, Dassera they use loudspeakers in the mask of religion and distribute the resident people. According to me any resident founds any mandal which is creating a noise pollution they should avoid providing contribution (VARGANI) to the Mandal.
Mrs Geeta Singh said our area comes under sound zone but then too during the Ganesh Utsav music played by them is very loud and we personally gone there in the pandal and requested to slow down the music and they did so, I would like to say that speak up they you will be heard.
As per the survey mostly public demand was to play the AARTI song that too in a audible low voice so that one can enjoy the festival in a calm way. As the world is developing we all are getting educated but still we are following to accept the fact what our Mother Earth and the residing people face.
God Ganesha come to visit us to provide calm and silence life and in return we play hip pitch songs. The study of WHO (World Health organization) said that due to noise pollution social behavior changes, it also effect the student performance/School. The main effect is sleeping distributions. It also leads to abnormally high blood sugar rates but all these effects of noise pollution are not known by the public as well. There should be strict law pass for controlling the noise pollution for the goodwill of maintaining the esteem of Indian Culture.
